This was the first time we had played either team this season so as always it was good to see how we matched up against other clubs.
Bury had enough players for two teams so we were able to play 3 matches.

As usual with the U7 matches they were very close. We tied the matches with Bury A and B, 4 – 4 and 6 – 6 respectively and then managed to beat Ely 8 – 7.

This joint training session was really useful as some players who had not played very much managed to play their first or second matches. Everyone did really well with tagging and backing up the play. Sam scored his first try and I am keen to encourage everyone to get fully involved and get over that try line!

The competition for try of the season is also hotting up. After Charlie W’s try line to try line whilst swerving through all of the opposition last week Charlie U has entered a contender.
The try was so good that I overheard it being discussed in the club house and I quote “he jumped like a salmon to take the ball in the air” and after a couple of sidesteps he was over the line for a fantastic try.
